The pre-load size and date have been revealed for the highly anticipated DLC expansion for Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree. The news comes from a reliable source, PlayStation Game Size, which confirms that Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree comes up to 16.5 GB in total on both consoles and PC.
And since to play the DLC you will require the base game, it will come to a total of 61 GB, which (considering the expanding game sizes these days) isn’t that bad. As for availability, you can start pre-loading the expansion on June 19, two days before its eventual release on June 21, 2024. If you’re one of the many who can’t wait to get lost in the Lands Between again, and the Land of Shadow, pre-loading it will allow you to start Shadow of the Erdtree the moment it launches.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Preorder Bonuses & Editions
The recent reveal trailer for the DLC expansion hinted at a lot of what it will add to the game, but other than Miquella having a major role, we only got cryptic hints and some snippets of possible bosses we can expect after release. Expect a new map with new weapons, skills, magic, and equipment, with a lot of new areas to explore and die endlessly in.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is up for pre-order for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. There are preorder bonuses as well, but they are only cosmetic items like gestures. The price will vary depending on which version you get.
There are three versions of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. The basic one includes the base game and the expansion and is called Shadow of the Erdtree Edition. The Deluxe Edition has two separate digital artbooks and original soundtracks for both Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree. Finally, the Premium Bundle will include the DLC, its original soundtrack, and digital artbook, but it won’t have the base game (ideal for those who already own Elden Ring).
Elden Ring is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
