Wes Johnson has been one of the more prolific veterans of the gaming industry and even beyond. He’s best known in the gaming community for playing Sheogorath in The Elder Scrolls games, mainly Oblivion and a bit in Skyrim. Recently, however, Wes Johnson was rushed to the intensive care unit in Atlanta after being found barely alive in his hotel room and his family has since called for a donation drive on GoFundMe.
The GoFundMe page, titled “UNLEASH THE FURY- FOR THE LOVE OF WES JOHNSON” had a target of $50,000 for Johnson’s emergency treatment. However, a day after it was posted, the GoFundMe page has accumulated more than $142,000 at the time of writing, and likely more to go with more than 2,200 people donating.
Currently, however, the 63-year-old actor appears to still be in critical condition in the ICU. So far, Johnson’s family hasn’t released an update yet on what happened to the actor. Most of the donations apparently came from the gaming community and the Washington Capitals Ice Hockey team since Johnson is also a Public Address Announcer.
Wes Johnson’s Fans Didn’t Fail Him
The GoFundMe page also listed some of Johnson’s best works in the gaming industry which include Elder Scrolls, World of Warcraft, Star Trek: Legacy & Conquest, and Fallout 3 & 4.
As for what happened to Wes Johnson, he was supposed to attend a benefit event for National Alzheimer’s Foundation in Atlanta but his wife began calling him after he didn’t show up at the event. The staff in the hotel in which Johnson was staying soon discovered the actor unconscious and barely alive with the EMT struggling to find a pulse.
Wes Johnson has since been rushed to an ICU and is still staying in the hospital with his family. Outside of gaming, Wes Johnson has also starred in television shows such as Veep, The Wire, and America’s Most Wanted.
