When you explore the Yabbashah block in Tartarus, you may encounter the mysterious Monad Door. Entering the door will lead you to a strange space where you must defeat a powerful Shadow to obtain rare materials. The first boss you will face during your first visit is Elegant Mother in Persona 3 Reload. If you need help finding a way to beat this Shadow, we’ll explain Elegant Mother’s weakness and the best strategy you can use in this battle.
How To Beat Elegant Mother in Persona 3 Reload
Elegant Mother is a Level 43 enemy that usually performs Strike attacks in Persona 3 Reload. In order to defeat this Shadow, you must hit its weakness to stun the enemy and let you perform an All-Out Attack.
- Weakness: Fire
- Resist: Wind
- Repel: None
- Null: Dark
- Absorb: None
Elegant Mother can cast Poison Mist, which can inflict Poison status ailment to your whole team. Unfortunately, Yukari’s Patra skill cannot remove this status effect, but you can throw Dis-Poison to remove it from one ally. You can also use a Persona with Baisudi magic, such as Zorro, to cure Poison.
Besides continuously dealing damage, Poison will also prevent your team members from unleashing their Theurgy abilities. If you are out of Dis-Poison or healing skill, you can mitigate the damage by ordering Yukari to cast Media during her turn.
Best Team Composition
To defeat Elegant Mother quickly, you want to hit her weakness as much as possible in Persona 3 Reload. Here are the team members I recommend you use during this boss battle:
- DPS: Junpei
- Healer: Yukari
- Support: Protagonist & Aigis
Junpei is the perfect damage dealer against Elegant Mother since he can cast Agilao and attack the boss’ weakness. You can also use the protagonist to deal damage, but he may be the only one who can cure Poison with Baisudi. As usual, Yukari will be the healer since she can heal the whole party with Media. Aigis can alternate between dealing Physical damage and buffing Junpei.
After defeating Elegant Mother, you can access the two treasure chests she was guarding. The stripped chest will grant you one Nihil Cloth and the regular chest contains three Amethyst. You can use both Materials at Mayoido Antiques to purchase rare items and craft powerful gear.
