Billionaire and “top gamer” Elon Musk has recently come under scrutiny after several gaming communities accused him of cheating in Path of Exile 2 and/or Diablo 4. Some of the presented evidence points to how Musk was paying someone to play Path of Exile 2 for him so he could take credit for the achievements. Well, Elon Musk is now certainly aware of such accusations and even has a cheeky albeit sarcastic response for anyone accusing him of cheating in Path of Exile 2.
Elon Musk jokingly “revealed” on X/Twitter that it was actually a Chinese man who plays Path of Exile for him via a reply on Tesla Owners Silicon Valley account. Yes officer, this man right here:
For anyone wondering who he is, Yilongma is a longtime Chinese content creator and internet celebrity who has been parodying Elon Musk for more than four years now. You can’t deny the resemblance is uncanny, though the same could not be said for the supposed “Tesla” vehicle beside him.
Yilongma Became a “Scapegoat”
Prior to the tweet reply, Musk has been playing in on the accusations from the gaming community on his Path of Exile 2 livestreams. Many Path of Exile 2 players have accused Musk of employing Chinese gamers to pilot his Path of Exile 2 characters so he can skip the grind. To that, Musk gave another sarcastic reply about Yilongma:
So far, no further evidence has been presented or any confirmation whether it’s really Chinese gamers boosting Elon Musk’s Path of Exile 2 characters. There have been some telltale signs, however, that have convinced gaming communities that Musk is boosting or cheating in games. Among those signs is Musk’s lack of understanding of basic mechanics despite having several fully-geared endgame characters.
There’s still a long list of other accusations and presented evidence strings that Elon Musk might have been cheating in the games he plays, notably Path of Exile 2 and Diablo 4. Musk will likely never address those or try to vindicate himself. You can read more about it here.
