Emily Ratajkowski may want to keep her opinions to herself as many are uninterested in her environmental agenda on Blue Origin. The model sparked online backlash for her comments about the recent all-female trip to space. The star-studded space flight featured stars like Katy Perry, Gayle King, and Jeff Bezos’s partner Lauren Sanchez.
The group was a part of Blue Origin’s 11-minute round-trip expedition to the edge of space. However, spending millions of dollars for a short time in space was a complete waste of money to Ratajkowski. She implied these women embarked on an environmentally degrading journey for clout and bashed them for willingly participating in the world’s destruction.
Ratajkowski described the space mission as “end time sh-t,” stressing that the crew should care more about the environment. “It’s about Mother Earth, and you’re going up in a spaceship that is built and paid for by a company that’s single-handedly destroying the planet,” the model lamented on TikTok, adding:
“Look at the state of the world and think about how many resources went into putting these women into space. For what? What was the marketing there? And then to try to make it, like, I’m disgusted. Literally, I’m disgusted.”
Critics Scream ‘Jealous’ at Emily Ratajkowski’s Blue Origin Rant
While Ratajkowski addressed the situation from an environmental perspective, others believed her stance stemmed from jealousy. These critics shared their theories on X, calling her out for only standing with the earth because she didn’t participate. “Honestly, it’s their money, they can blow it on whatever they want. Also, she’s bitter because she wasn’t invited. Maybe next time, Emily,” someone noted.
Another agreed, claiming Ratajkowski was envious of the other stars who made the crew list. A third echoed similar sentiments, stating the model suddenly became passionate about “saving the planet.” The jabs continued, with an X user labeling Ratajkowski “salty” while someone claimed the trip wasn’t detrimental to the environment.
A critic pointed out that Ratajkowski didn’t speak up “during the 38 previous male-led flights.” However, she immediately found space trips environmentally degrading when they involved an all-female crew. Surprisingly, the model wasn’t the only celebrity to bash the star-studded trip, as actress Olivia Wilde joined the criticism table.
Olivia Wilde Reacts to Katy Perry’s Space Trip

We covered the drama, reporting Wilde slammed Perry’s participation in the Blue Origin expedition on her Instagram Story. She reposted a meme that hilariously compared the singer’s landing reaction to people getting off commercial flights in 2025.
Following her return from space, Perry dramatically got off the space shuttle with her hand in the air. Her successful landing celebration continued with the Roar singer kneeling to kiss the dirt. Wilde bashed Perry’s reaction in her post’s caption, quipping, “Billion dollars bought some good memes, I guess.”
Wilde wasn’t alone as more people slammed the stars who participated in the 11-minute joyride. Many saw it as a waste of resources and came after Perry for spending millions on the space trip. “Katy Perry will try anything to stay relevant besides make good music,” someone bashed her on Reddit.
Will the online backlash stop Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin from launching another space expedition with celebrities?
