The U.S. is like one big parking lot it seems, so it makes you wonder why anyone fights over parking spots. Still, people will try to secure the best spot everywhere they go. For example, when a family visited a recreation site in Arizona, what they didn’t expect was to be stopped by a couple of Karens.
Posted by the Rodgers family on their TikTok account Mr_Mrs_Rodgers, they had wanted a nice day out at the Butcher Jones Recreation Site. When they started pulling into a parking spot, two women walked over and stood in their way. You can hear Mr. Rodgers asking them, “Can you please get out the way?” They explain that they’re trying to pull all the way into the parking lot, but the two women won’t move.
When they refuse to move, Mrs. Rodgers tells them, “You guys can’t save spots!” As they continue to repeat this, the women stand there with smiles on their faces. One of them says her children are in her car while she’s saving the parking spot.
While all of this is happening, their friend pulls up in his vehicle. One of the women tells him he can park in the spot they saved, even though the Rodgers family is actively trying to pull into the space.
In the end, the Rodgers family prevailed and claimed the parking spot anyway. In two update videos, they posted a photo of their vehicle in the parking space. And the other was a montage of themselves and their children having fun at the lake, captioned “On the other note, my kids had a good time.”
The response online were full of hilarious comments
Despite the petty squabble, people online weren’t letting the two Karens off the hook. Some also shared similar experiences, with almost disastrous results. Others offered clever solutions to the problem.
One commenter shared how he avoids problems like this altogether. “That’s why I have a train horn on my truck lol,” they wrote. This garnered some attention, with commenters suggesting he just keep it going until they move. The original commenter even added that it’s loud enough to “make cows move.”
Several commenters suggested pulling into the parking spot anyway. “I would just kept moving up,” they said. “Jus drive and watch them move,” responded in kind.
Another TikTok user shared their experience, which nearly resulted in a fight. “This happened to me at Castaic Lake, there was almost a rumble.” With any recreation area, it’s first-come, first-served, so move out of the way!
