I guess she wasn’t lovin’ it!

A New Jersey woman got out of her car not once, but twice to confront McDonald’s employees through the drive-thru window after becoming frustrated with the wait for her coffee. The encounter sparked widespread online criticism, with many viewers calling the behavior entitled and arguing that her lack of planning wasn’t the restaurant’s responsibility. Others, however, said they understood her frustration.

The video posted by TikTok user @dominique_antonella_ shows the woman walking past waiting vehicles before knocking on the drive-thru window.

“Hey, I need my coffee. I’m on my way to work. This is taking an unacceptable amount of time. You need to hurry up,” she tells an employee before walking back to her car.

Moments later, the New Jersey woman returns to the window and knocks again, saying she has been waiting 10 minutes. A manager responds by apologizing for the delay while explaining that other customers are also waiting. “I understand, but there is a line. There is a queue,” he says. While portions of the conversation are drowned out by the video’s audio, the clip ends with the woman walking away.

The Comment Section Reacts

Most viewers sided with the McDonald’s employees, arguing the woman’s lack of planning wasn’t the restaurant’s responsibility. “If you’re running late then don’t stop for anything,” one commenter wrote. Another added, “Lack of planning on your part doesn’t constitute an emergency for me.” Many also took issue with what they saw as the New Jersey customer’s sense of entitlement. “Entitlement at a McDonald’s drive through is crazy,” one commenter wrote.

Current and former food service workers said situations like this are nothing new. “As a former fast food worker this happened way more often than it should have,” one commenter wrote. Another, who said they currently work at McDonald’s, explained that many drive-thru delays stem from customers, “taking forever to order, taking forever to get their money together at the window, or changing their order at the window.“

Some viewers could understand where the woman was coming from. “Okay but I also understand her being mad because fast food takes way too long sometimes even when there’s hardly anyone in the line,” one commenter wrote. Others were more surprised by the silence from the cars behind her, questioning why nobody else waiting in line appeared to react to the confrontation.

While a handful of commenters sympathized with the wait, most agreed the woman’s sense of entitlement overshadowed any legitimate frustration she may have had.
