Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: Every Returning Breath of the Wild Character
There aren’t a ton of familiar faces that we’re aware of yet, judging by the trailers that have been released for the newest game. Though, there are some important characters that we would love to see again! Let’s take a look to see if any of your favorites will be returning to the franchise in May. Some of these characters will be very familiar, while you may not have even encountered others. Be sure to check back for updates as we approach the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Link

You can’t have a The Legend of Zelda game without Link! Just like in Breath of the Wild, Link will be the primary character that you will be able to play as in Tears of the Kingdom. However, when he is reintroduced in the new game, he will be a bit different than we remember him with a new set of abilities and a new look. Though, this time, Link will have all of his memories, much unlike Link in Breath of the Wild.
Zelda

Much like Link, a Legend of Zelda game just isn’t right without Zelda. I mean, her name is in the title of the game, after all! In Tears of the Kingdom, Zelda won’t be a huge part of the game, much like in Breath of the Wild. However, she will be a bit more active in Tears of the Kingdom, and many players have hope that we may even be able to play as Zelda for a portion of the game!
Ganondorf

In Breath of the Wild, we met Calamity Ganon. Though, in Tears of the Kingdom, Calamity Ganon will make a strong reappearance as the primary antagonist, Ganondorf. Rather than being the ominous and formless Calamity Ganon that we encountered in Breath of the Wild, Ganondorf will take on a more humanoid form, and even be depicted as more a of personified character rather than just a looming evil.
Prince Sidon

Prince Sidon was a fairly popular character in Breath of the Wild, so it’s not a surprise to see him appear in some of the Tears of the Kingdom trailers. However, he will be a bit different this time around, as he is shows actually fighting alongside Link. There’s evidence suggesting that Price Sidon may even play a much bigger role in Tears of the Kingdom.
Riju

Riju makes no attempt at hiding her return in Tears of the Kingdom, as she is depicted in the new game’s trailer dual wielding a pair of scimitars with lighting bolts raining down around her. It hasn’t been confirmed, but we may be able to see Riju fighting alongside Link in Tears of the Kingdom, much like Prince Sidon.
Tulin

You may not have encountered Tulin in Breath of the Wild, as he’s a bit more of a side character that offers up the option to play a mini-game. However, when he returns in Tears of the Kingdom, he will play much bigger role and will be seen very often
