Exoprimal didn’t have the best reception at launch, especially from the critics. But it seems Capcom might be open to pulling out the nostalgia card using a crossover to get more people to play Exoprimal. The game director of the dinosaur looter shooter, Takuro Hiraoka, said in a recent interview that Dino Crisis content in the game isn’t an impossibility and might make it in future updates.
Capcom had already announced that it indeed planned on having a plethora of crossover events with other Capcom IPs when it came to post-launch content for Exoprimal. Capcom is even pushing crossovers in Street Fighter 6 with the latest TMNT collab. Street Fighter 6 has already been confirmed to have crossover content with Exoprimal, so more Capcom properties are very likely.
Exoprimal Might Get a Dino Crisis Crossover If There’s Demand
The last crossover event reveal generated a lot of buzz among the Street Fighter community. Capcom has plenty of other games that would make for great crossovers, like Resident Evil or Monster Hunter. But the idea of Dino Crisis makes a lot more sense, especially in a game like Exoprimal, in which you’re primarily fighting dinosaurs.
Takuro Hiraoka, when asked about a potential Dino Crisis crossover, didn’t confirm or deny it, but said it was possible if enough players wanted to see it happen. They’re open to the idea but want to see the requisite levels of demand and interest before pulling the trigger.
But that wasn’t all Hiraoka said regarding crossovers. He went on to say that he himself wanted crossovers with certain other Capcom titles. While this isn’t a confirmation, it shows that it is very likely. Hiraoka said that he thinks Mega Man would make a great addition to Exoprimal along with Dragon’s Dogma, which has been in the news recently because of its upcoming entry.
Exoprimal is now out for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
