Despite the wave of generation-defining titles throughout the first half of 2020, Fall Guys has become the hottest thing in gaming. In 2019, this may not have been such an accomplishment, but in a loaded 2020, the success of Devolver Digital’s newest project cannot be understated. And, now, the new Prince of Battle Royals is looking to collaborate with the juggernaut that is Fortnite.
2020: A Premiere Year for Video Games
The opening months of this year provided slam dunk after slam dunk. Doom Eternal, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons all launched in March. Sony and PlayStation delivered Final Fantasy VII Remake in April. Within a few weeks of each other, The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima wowed players this summer.
The general consensus was that we’d have a few slow months in August and September to catch up on backlogs before Cyberpunk 2077 and the new consoles arrived. However, those golden hours of gaming catch-up are quickly being Thanos-snapped out of existence.

Fall Guys is the breakout title of the year
Now, it’s unlikely that any of us will find time to trek through our mountains of unplayed games. But with the launch of a game like Fall Guys, who cares? The masterpiece of online co-op gaming is the perfect answer to a couple of quiet months. Fall Guys brings back Rocket League and early Fortnite vibes. The one glaring difference being that Fall Guys is killing it on social media.
The game’s Twitter account is a must-follow right now. It has been sharing updates regarding the game, as well as connecting to fans through the platform. That said, the most interesting tweets that have come from Fall Guys involve other popular video games. The most notable being a Tweet sent to Fortnite and Epic Games‘ CEO, Tim Sweeney.
Nothing confirmed, but why not do it?
Operator, give me the number for @TimSweeneyEpic and also @FortniteGame, we have some business to talk https://t.co/5pz0ITBDcu

The tweet, as seen above, was all in good fun. Featuring fan art made by a fan of Fall Guys, the image shows two Fall Guys beans wearing Fortnite-inspired costumes.
While nothing has been confirmed, the crossover seems only natural. Fortnite has made a fortune off of cosmetics throughout its existence. A Fortnite x Fall Guys collab would, surely, net both games massive profits.
Not to get carried away, but Fortnite wasn’t the only major title that Fall Guys poked on Twitter. In a separate tweet, the game shouted out Cyberpunk 2077. The upcoming RPG answered the call. As did Geralt of Rivia and The Witcher.
Hi, please can we get one retweet on this tweet and then @CyberpunkGame will collab with us
Pls, I need this
Just one retweet
And then it's confirmed
100%
