Farrah Abraham is prioritizing healthy decisions for herself and her daughter. The former Teen Mom star has cut a lot of people out of her life since refocusing on her future. Not only has she cut all ties with people from her MTV past, but she’s also cut ties with her parents — Debra Danielsen and Michael Abraham. The reality star opened up about the decision while appearing as a guest on Rachel Uchitel‘s Miss Understood podcast.
Farrah Says Both She and Sophia Decided to Cut Ties
Farrah explained that her always turbulent relationship with mom Debra Danielsen had come to an end over two years ago. She was still, for a time, on and off speaking with her father, Michael Abraham. That changed in 2022, however, when Farrah attended a trauma therapy program and decided the relationship no longer served her.
So I actually haven’t talked to my parents in two years from leaving the trauma center … I am doing what’s best for my psychotherapist’s guidance, and everyone else who’s living by the 12 Steps. So I am going very hard and fearless with that. Again, I just send my love and light to people. It’s out of just being healthy and balanced.

Teen Mom fans remember that despite their tumultuous relationships, both Debra and Michael played a major part in helping Farrah raise Sophia in the early years of her life. The now 15-year-old has also decided to cut off her grandparents, a decision Farrah supports.
Sophia has decided to not speak to many of her grandparents. Not only my [parents], but her dads’[parents]. She does still have a great relationship that she wants to be open with her grandfather on her dad’s side. So that’s great.

Debra Has Tried Using Social Media to Connect with Sophia
Debra Danielsen has not faded out of the spotlight since she and Farrah’s time on Teen Mom ended. The mom of two has continued to pursue her career in rap, releasing a number of tracks about family life, being a grandma, and being a single older woman who still wants to have fun.
Despite Farrah’s claims that Sophia also hasn’t spoken to her grandparents in nearly two years, Debra does occasionally try to reach her granddaughter with messages on social media.
In February, Debra posted a throwback of her and Sophia on TikTok as she wished the teen a happy birthday, set to her song, “Grandma’s Love.” There was no response from Farrah or Sophia.
