Any Warrior of Light will want to level up FFXIV Dawntrail‘s new jobs as fast as possible; I’m talking about Viper and Pictomancer. For the unaware, these two new playable jobs will begin at level 80, meaning you can only take them to Dawntrail‘s main scenario quests once they reach level 90. This is, of course, quite a steep road to climb, and with many wanting to jump into Tural as fast as possible, having a good leveling route is paramount.
Endwalker’s Main Scenario Quests
This tip is only for those who haven’t finished Endwalker‘s MSQ. Let’s say you bought Dawntrail but are still back in Endwalker; it is a blessing in disguise. The fastest way to level up Viper and Pictomancer before taking them to FFXIV Dawntrail is by sticking to Endwalker‘s MSQ. This will provide the most experience points without having to grind a thing. If you administrate main and side quests correctly with the mandatory dungeons, you might be able to level both jobs at the same time. Previously, I’ve leveled two jobs simultaneously while playing through an expansion, so you could do this for Viper and Pictomancer.
The Bozjan Southern Front
Back when Endwalker launched, we all rushed to level up Reaper and Sage as fast as possible. The easiest way to do so was through The Bozjan Southern Front. This post-game activity introduced in Shadowbringers provided players with many FATEs to grind and proved to be an easy way to level jobs up. Then, each FATE you finished would grant around 300k experience points, which made leveling up jobs much faster. Now, with Dawntrail here, The Bozjan Southern Front is still a great idea, assuming you have enough players to form a big party to tackle all activities in this instance.
Dungeon Grinding
If you don’t mind something repetitive, the fastest way to level up Viper and Pictomancer in FFXIV Dawntrail is by grinding dungeons. Before you do anything, you must reach level 81 with each of the new jobs. Doing so will unlock the first Endwalker dungeon. Here, you can do two things. First, gather a party and start grinding levels. This might be a bit difficult given how all the new jobs are DPS, and you might not have a lot of tanks and healers to queue with you. Secondly, you can use the Trust system, which, while slower, will allow you to level up the new jobs at your own pace without requiring other players.
Wondrous Tails and Allied Society Quests
The last two options to level up Viper and Pictomancer fast before taking them to FFXIV Dawntrail involve weekly and daily activities. Assuming you obtained a Wondrous Tails journal before the weekly reset, you should be able to turn it in as soon as Dawntrail goes live and then grab another journal. This will grant you almost two full levels for one job. The next option is leveling through Allied Society Quests. You can do the Arkasodara Allied Society Quests for a bunch of experience points. If you time it right, you can do a set before the daily reset and then another one once the new quests become available.
Regardless of what you pick, these are the best methods to level up FFXIV Dawntrail‘s two new jobs. If you don’t want to fall into a monotonous grind, I recommend switching things up. I usually begin with dungeon grinding, as the first dungeons from Endwalker are easy to finish, and then move on to Bozja. While you level, remember to grab your job quests for new skills and story details about Viper and Pictomancer.
