Looking for a quick FFXIV guide on leveling Fishing from level 1 to 90 the fast way? If so, you’ve come to the right place. Fishing, like in many JRPGs, provides players with a relaxing and rewarding side activity. Some side quests will also task you with catching specific fish, such as the Desert Catfish or Garjana Wrasse. Nevertheless, to unlock all the perks from the Fisher Job, you will want to raise it to the max level as fast as you can.

What Is the Fastest Way to Level Up Fisher in FFXIV?

The fastest way to level up Fisher in FFXIV is by running Ocean Fishing. The best thing about Ocean Fishing is that it can give you a lot of XP whatever level you are at. However, you cannot spam this activity. It can only be accessed using NPC Duty Finder every two hours, and the queue only opens for 15 minutes. With that in mind, you can run other Quests to fill your time waiting for queues.

Here’s how you can unlock and run Ocean Fishing in FFXIV:

  1. Be at least Level 1 Fisher.
  2. Complete the “My First Fishing Rod” Quest.
  3. Accept the “All the Fish in the Sea” Quest in Limsa Lominsa.
    • Speak with Fhilsnoe at Fisher’s Guild in Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks at X:7.8, Y:14.5 coordinates.
  4. Speak with Foerzagyl at the Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks ferry docks to complete the Quest.
  5. Now Ocean Fishing is unlocked.
    • Speak to Dryskthota at Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks to check the queue or the ship’s departure schedules.
    • Once on the ship, go to the edge of the deck to start fishing.

Aside from Ocean Fishing, you can also try Levequests or Guildleves. Just like the previous activity, you can do this at any level. Nevertheless, the community recommends running Fisher Levequests at Levels 60-70 to 90. Oftentimes, you can buy the necessary fish to complete the Levequests from Market Board. Doing this makes leveling up your Fisher level quite fast even without having to catch any fish! This FFXIV guide suggests you run the ones in Old Sharlyan for fast Fisher leveling. Just remember that you need to spend Leve Allowance to run Levequests.

To increase your XP gain and level up Fisher fast, FFXIV also provides a number of XP boosters. For example, you can get Survival Manuals from spending Grand Company Seals which will provide 150% XP boosts. You can also use gear like Friendship Circlet and Ala Mhigan Earrings for up to 30% bonus XP. If you’re on a Preferred World, you will also gain an additional 100% XP boost. Don’t forget that Resting and getting Food buffs can also increase your XP gain. Even if the bonus is smaller, Gathering stat buff from Mushroom Saute and Carrot Nibbles can help you catch more fish.
