This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

New Warrior of Light might not know this, but every time a new FFXIV expansion launches, many old tomestones become discontinued. This might sound bad for many as it seems like you might be losing your hard-earned currency. Thankfully, that is not the case. In FFXIV Dawntrail, there is a way to exchange your old and discontinued tomestones. All you need to do is take a trip to one of the MMO’s most iconic locations and swap your old currency for some sweet Allagan Tomestones of Poetics.

To exchange your discontinued tomestones in FFXIV, you must travel to Mor Dhona. Once there, head to Auriana, who is at coordinates (X: 22.7, Y: 6.7). Once you meet her, you can select the Allagan Tomestone Exchange option, and you’ll be able to exchange your Tomestones of Comedy and Tomestones of Causality for Tomestones of Poetics. The exchange ratio is 2:1. If you bring 1000 Tomestones of Causality, you’ll get 500 Tomestones of Poetics. Once you do so, you can head to your currency tab (CTRL + C) to see how many tomestones you have.

How To Spend Your Allagan Tomestones of Poetics

Since Tomestones of Poetics is the permanent currency in the game, you can use them to buy many things. Personally, I recommend spending them on Anima Weapon materials, or if you’re leveling any new jobs, spend them on Cryptlurker gear, which is ideal for Viper and Pictomancer. You might still need to farm a few more tomes to get the full set, but since most Roulettes in the game award you with this currency, farming it shouldn’t be bad.

Also, it doesn’t seem like there’s a time limit for your to exchange your old tomestones, but we encourage you to do it sooner rather than later so you can get the proper currency to buy gear or other goodies.
