Square Enix Says Final Fantasy’s Development Is Now Complete
It was revealed today on the Final Fantasy 16 Twitter page by Square Enix that the title’s development is now complete. The game is finally polished from A TO Z, which is eons before its official release date of June 22.
The tweet simply stated, “Final Fantasy 16 has gone gold.”
“From the entire team, including Torgal, we hope you’re looking forward to FF16’s launch on June 22nd.”
Final Fantasy 16 was officially announced back in September 2020 as the next standalone Final Fantasy title in the critically acclaimed RPG’s lineup. This time, players get to experience the world of Valisthea filled with knights and castles.
Square Enix always stayed on top and kept pumping out updates on Final Fantasy 16’s development from September 2020 onwards. They claimed that basic development wrapped up nearly one month after the title’s announcement. Later on April 12, Producer Naoki Yoshida claimed that the game was in its final stages of development.
Fans had hoped the game would release toward the end of the year, but it isn’t like Square Enix to not thoroughly polish their titles. We waited and waited and paid heed to updates. And finally, we’ll get to enjoy Final Fantasy 16 in June.
But it’s sad to say that the title will remain a PlayStation 5 exclusive for nearly six months. Then it’s coming to the Xbox and PC.
