Bugenhagen is an old man whose back cannot handle too much hard work. Luckily, Cloud’s group has yet to leave Cosmo Canyon, and they agree to help him check on some Lifesprings in this area. The bad news is that Nanaki’s grandpa won’t tell you directly where they are and will only give you several maps. Most Lifespring Survey Stations are easy to locate, but the last one is hidden very well and may make some players struggle to complete the From Whence Life Flows side quest in FF7 Rebirth.

How To Complete From Whence Life Flows Quest in FF7 Rebirth
Visiting all of the five Lifesprings should be your only objective, but like Cloud’s previous jobs, there will be monsters that you must kill. Most of them will be attacking the Survey Stations’ gates, so you can see them from afar.
Lifespring Survey Station #1
The first Lifespring is located south of the Cosmo Canyon town and northeast of the Activation Tower Intel 3. This Survey Station is the easiest one since you can reach it on foot, and no monsters are attacking the gate.
Lifespring Survey Station #2
The second Survey Station you need to visit in the From Whence Life Flows side quest in FF7 Rebirth can be found near the first Proto Relic spot. You can also reach this area by walking northwest and then heading east until you see abandoned ruins on your left. Four Skeeskee are attacking the barricade, and you must defeat them before they destroy it.
Lifespring Survey Station #3
The third Lifespring is nearby, and you only need to head northwest to reach the Survey Station. Three Desert Sahagin are attacking the gate, but you can defeat them with Ice magic.
Lifespring Survey Station #4
The fourth Lifespring in the From Whence Life Flows quest can be found east of Tower Intel 4 in FF7 Rebirth. When you arrive, two Desert Sahagin and one Griffon are attempting to break the barricade. I recommend using Wind abilities to stagger the avian monster.
Lifespring Survey Station #5
The last Survey Station is the hardest one to find in the From Whence Life Flows quest. If you have unlocked the nearby Chocobo Station or the Lifespring Expedition Intel 4, then you can simply teleport and walk to this area.
However, things get a bit tricky when you haven’t explored this zone. You must use your Chocobo and fly up several Gliding Ranges to reach the last Lifespring. To start your journey, you must travel south until you can walk up this dirt path:
Afterward, you have to pass through these Gliding Ranges to get to the Survey Station:
- Gliding Range No.6 – 61 m
- Gliding Range No.7 – 78 m
- Gliding Range No.13 – 88 m
- Gliding Range No.14 – 90 m
When you arrive, no monster will attack the barricade, but it will soon change after you get inside. Three Threadspinner Chimera will spawn, and you can defeat them using Ice abilities.
Completing the From Whence Life Flows quest in FF7 Rebirth will give you these rewards:
- Relationship Points with Red XIII
- Party EXP
- Character EXP
- Access to the Promises to Keep Mission
