During Sony PlayStation’s State of Play, fans and industry members got information regarding Final Fantasy XVI. With the Square Enix announcement, fans were treated to an accompanying release trailer showing the game’s features and an announced release window. The Square Enix released Final Fantasy XVI will come out in Summer 2023 exclusively on PlayStation.
State of Play Showcases a World of Summons and a Clash of Giants
The gameplay trailer titled “Dominance” shown during the State of Play event gave fans an idea of what the combat will look like. Fans received additional details regarding the world of Valisthea along with what we saw in the trailer. The newest release from Square Enix may have more of an emphasis on summons not only in the story but in combat as well. Towards the end of the trailer offers a small showcase for each of the featured summons most familiar to any fans of the Final Fantasy franchise.
Final Fantasy XVI, the newest Square Enix release, will feature a fluid real-time combat system. They show the protagonist Clive Rosfield utilizing an extensive array of unique attacks based on the powers of the summons that looked similar to the combat system in previous releases. With the announcement, fans are given a glimpse into the next epic entry into the Final Fantasy franchise that will hopefully be as popular as the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV and not the disappointing but still good Final Fantasy XV.
