Why are Karens always bothering you when you’re minding your own business? And worse, it’s usually about something minor, like where you’re parked. Well, while a Florida woman was parked in the very neighborhood she lives in, lo and behold, a Karen took issue. And it isn’t surprising it was in an HOA neighborhood to boot.
TikTok user Jeetheg, Jee, shared a two-part video of her interaction with her neighborhood Karen. When she approached Jee’s vehicle, she immediately asked, “Is there a problem?” Before then, Jee wasn’t doing anything other than sitting in her car watching a movie. The Karen immediately started telling Jee she wasn’t allowed to park there, despite knowing Jee lives in the neighborhood. Of course, Jee tells her as much. However, the Karen admonishes her and says, “So do all the other homeowners and they still can’t do that.”
When Jee tells the woman she pays the HOA fees, her nosey neighbor tells her that doesn’t mean she can break the rules. Jee, being pedantic, tells her she was merely “sitting” in her car. “So technically, I’m not parked,” she says, and reiterates once again she lives there.
The furious neighbor tells her she isn’t allowed to do that in her own vehicle and says, “It’s not a hangout.” Jee tells her to walk away, and while the Karen is still jabbering, she puts up her car window. In the background, the neighbor is seen taking a photo of Jee’s license plates.
In part two of Jee’s run-in with her neighborhood Karen, Jee tells her she’s recorded the conversation so she doesn’t “fabricate” their conversation. The exasperated Karen says in disgust, “I don’t know why you people are so problematic.” Jee said she was calm until the woman came up to her in an “aggressive” manner. This woman continues to tell her she isn’t allowed to park out there and she doesn’t “own” the street.
How People Online Reacted to Jee’s TikTok Video
As expected when it comes to Karens of all shapes and sizes, people roasted Jee’s neighbor online. Not to mention unhappy with how HOAs tend to treat people in their communities. “HOA should be illegal because it’s run by personal opinions,” one TikTok viewer wrote, while another asked, “You can’t park where you live?”
Many in the comment section were quite happy with how Jee handled the situation. “The eye contact while rolling up the window 😭😭😭,” one user said. “People just be bored…” another fired off.
That’s what it is, isn’t it? Boredom. And where Jee lives, she gets the worst of both worlds. As she put it: a Florida Karen, so of course the interaction has to be extra frustrating.
