A Florida woman came to a Miami salon to get lashes installed. However, while there, she agreed to a service, possibly not knowing that she was being charged an extra fee for it. Upon finishing, the client was unable to pay. A confrontation ensued and police were called.
TikToker Shae (@TheShaeEffect) claims that her “client in Miami tries to run off without paying.” Shae says that the client came in for lashes but added some services and booked a same-day appointment, tacking on “extra fees.” Shae states that the client was aware of the extra fees and started her services. However, upon finishing, the client was unable to pay all of the extra fees.
In Shae’s video, police show up because the client called them to get to the bottom of things. The client tells police that she “didn’t know about the extra fees” and that Shae lied and tacked them on randomly at the end. The client tells police that Shae trapped her inside the house with her dad and brother so she couldn’t leave. Both women try to butt in and tell their stories to police, who listen intently.
Shae tells her audience, “She’s trying to run off on the services she didn’t pay for.” She states that the client was “clearly broke” and could only afford to pay her $130 even though she ended up charging over $150 for the services with all the added fees. In the end, Shae didn’t say if she received the money she was owed for the services or if the woman was able to pay only $130 and call it a done deal.
Reactions immediately poured in on Shae’s awareness video of the client who wouldn’t pay the full price. Though some sided with Shae on the matter, others agreed with the client. One commenter stated bluntly, “I feel bad for the client.” Others believe that she was cheated on her services and that she shouldn’t have owed extra fees. One commenter added, “Working from an apartment and charging $155.”
Commenters continue to judge Shae for her services as the video goes viral. One commenter suggested, “Squeeze in fee is ridiculous. Either you have availability or you don’t!” Another stated, “Ngl I went down your page and whatever you’re charging you need to be charging way less.” Reactions continue to pour in on both sides, with commenters clearly divided on the interaction.
