If you’ve ever wondered what it was like for the cast and crew of Teen Mom to see the lives of these young women unfolding, you’re not alone. As we’d come to see in later seasons, production played a significant role in the lives of the cast members. As the show progressed, so too did their relationships, which we saw during seasons where the fourth wall broke. A security guard who worked on the first three seasons of Teen Mom: OG has come forward. Now, they’re answering the questions of the curious — particularly about Farrah Abraham.
The Verified Security Guard Answered Questions on Reddit
Hosting an Ask Me Anything on Reddit, the security guard addressed some burning questions from longtime viewers of the show. He made it clear early on that he was assigned to a particular mom — Farrah Abraham. While pointing out they only had perspective on what went on when production was around, they had a lot to say about the experience.
When asked about “the worst,” the security guard explained that Farrah was “actually worse than you think.“
“There were days I’d sit in the crew van and literally cry listening to the audio coming in from the house… She is a horrible human being.“
The security guard was also able to confirm previous rumors that Farrah only worked well with one producer — Heather Walsh, who also worked with Amber Portwood on the show.
“Heather Walsh is a freaking saint in my book- I think that’s one of the reasons Farrah eventually lost her shit, Heather kinda got shuffled to the side for [JC].”
They also acknowledged that there was a difference in the way Teen Mom: OG dealt with the two moms — and all the moms, in general.
“One afternoon while the crew was on a lunch break, Amber called Heather, presumably about Matt. She sounded genuinely upset and the crew seemed genuinely concerned for Amber- a sentiment I never saw from them with reference to Farrah.“
The Redditor Also Shared Some Thoughts About Farrah’s Parents
The Redditor was, of course, asked about Debra Danielsen and Michael Abraham. While he affirmed that “Deb was just as insane as you think she is,” he said fans were “wrong about Michael.”
That man put up with Farrah’s shit, tolerated being around Deb better than any ex-husband I’ve ever seen, treated the crew like actual human beings and was a decent, normal-ish dude. In fact, the last time I saw him was 6 months after I’d left the show. He was hustling T-shirts at the entrance to Austin Reggae Fest and I was leading one of the security teams for the event. This actual millionaire, hustling $20 tshirts like he’s 20? I walked up to him, shook his hand AND HE RECOGNIZED ME. In all my years, I think he might be the only “celebrity” who respected me enough to remember my name once the job was done.
Most importantly, the guard pointed out that while fans have criticized Farrah’s parenting over the years, they “never saw anything that rose to the level of abuse or neglect.”
