New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker attacked Donald Trump’s family finances and crypto dealings during a Judiciary Committee hearing. He accused colleagues of scrutinizing the Bidens while ignoring billions he said Trump’s family had earned. The speech drew attention for its vivid language and criticism of Todd Blanche’s advancement.
A video shared on X showed Booker delivering the remarks during proceedings involving Blanche.
Booker condemned presidents’ children who profit from corporate board positions, calling the practice wrong and corrupting. He said lawmakers were “obsessed” with millions linked to the Bidens but ignored larger Trump family profits.
He compared that imbalance to studying a carpet stain while overlooking “a mountain of excrement” across the room. Booker then alleged Trump created a cryptocurrency that attracted foreign investment.
He also accused corporations of placing Trump’s children on boards before receiving no-bid contracts. Booker tied those claims to the committee’s oversight duties and said lawmakers were surrendering integrity.
Booker said he had waited two weeks for safeguards against what he called presidential tax cheating. He said the committee had produced nothing and warned Blanche would advance to the Senate floor.
Cory Booker Faces Backlash Over Trump Crypto Remarks
The speech prompted criticism of Booker’s delivery and consistency, while others defended his focus on Trump’s family.
One X user wrote, “The TDS Clinic has reviewed the Senate floor footage. We are officially upgrading Senator Booker’s diagnosis from ‘Mild Panic’ to ‘Full-Blown Toddler Tantrum.’” Another asked, “Does Booker get paid by the outrage? Seems like most everything upsets him, like a 4-year-old not getting their way.”
A separate response stated, “Political theater, don’t buy this [expletive] this is all acting. Congress is one big club and the people are not invited.” Another wrote, “Show me where Booker said Hunter Biden’s board positions, salaries, and ‘art’ deals were corrupt and I’ll believe he actually cares.”
Others defended Booker’s criticism. One user wrote, “Very unfortunately, [DonaldJTrumpJr] and family have opened themselves up to this.” Another argued, “Sometimes you have to yell at those who are so deaf about listening to the truth about the most corrupt, inept, guy the spineless MAGA Republicans are about to confirm as our Attorney General.”
The committee had not adopted the safeguards Booker requested. Blanche was still headed toward Senate consideration.
