A Georgia man was filmed throwing a trash can lid at a store employee after allegedly attempting to steal Reese’s Cups from the business.

A video shared online showed the man inside the store, while someone outside filmed what was happening. The man snatched a box of Reese’s Cups but slipped on the floor, causing him to drop some of the candy. He then picked up the box again as a store employee chased him. As the man ran out of the store, he dropped even more of the Reese’s Cups.

After exiting the store, the man grabbed a trash can lid and held it in the air, appearing to warn the employee that he was going to throw it. He then threw the lid at the employee, who was standing at the store’s entrance and holding what appeared to be a stick.

The alleged thief did not stop after throwing the lid. He proceeded to pick up the entire trash can and carry it toward the store’s entrance. He then began pushing the trash can toward the door, seemingly attempting to get it inside the store and push the employee away. The employee, however, began hitting the can with the stick until the man eventually dropped it.

As the man stepped away, the employee remained at the door with the stick still in hand. The man then picked up the empty Reese’s Cups box and attempted to approach the store again. The employee responded by swinging the stick around, seemingly warning him to stay away. The video ended with the man still holding the empty box as the employee continued standing by the entrance. It remains unclear what happened next or whether police became involved.

Viewers Slam Georgia Man Over Behavior At Store

Many viewers criticized the Georgia man over his alleged attempt to steal from the store, with some arguing that incidents like this can contribute to businesses closing or leaving certain areas. “This is why stores pack up and leave. And then they cry about not having any stores closer,” one person wrote. Another person said, “Everything is going to be a vending machine soon.”

More people criticized the man over the alleged theft. One person wrote, “It will be the stores fault and a crime against the community when the store eventually closes.” Another person said, “People who act like that don’t possess them mental capacity to associate actions with consequences.” Someone else mocked the man, writing, “all that for a box of nothing.”

The video also raised concerns about theft in some communities and the potential impact on local businesses. It further prompted discussion about whether stores could eventually be forced to close if they continue facing repeated theft attempts.
