A Georgia woman who frequently buys food and goods for the homeless was doing some shopping at a grocery store. Suddenly, she was stopped by a family who recognized her and said they were in need. But when she went to help the family, she says they tried to slip in an item that wasn’t part of their groceries. She immediately called them out for their scamming behavior.

Kellie (@kelliekelshow) started recording after she claims a family tried to scam her when she was helping them buy groceries. Kellie frequently makes purchases for families in need using her TikTok platform. She claims this family “came here and asked for help” after recognizing her at the grocery store. They were unable to pay for their own groceries so she offered to make a purchase for them. But, Kellie was shocked when she saw the male customer put an Xbox card on the belt to pay for video games instead of food. She decided to call them out over it instead of staying silent.

Kellie confronts the couple, stating, “You tried to slide an Xbox card on me.” After Kellie calls them out, the female customer tells her, “You can leave.” Kellie snaps back with, “No, you can leave. You ain’t got no money to pay for your [expletive]. I can pay for everything in this store.” Kellie and the female customer get into an argument until she walks over to Kellie and pushes over her cart in anger, with all of the people’s groceries inside it.

Eventually, Kellie brushes the customers off and continues picking out groceries for those in need. She tells them, “I don’t care. I’m about to feed the homeless children.” As all of this is happening, the couple lays down their groceries to pay for them since Kellie is no longer helping them. They continue yelling at each other until the couple leaves the store.

Commenters immediately shared their reactions and came to Kellie’s defense in regards to the situation. One commenter pointed out, “That’s why I stopped helping people now smh.” Another commenter added, “I never give money anymore. I work with homeless and I could tell y’all some of the stories I hear!” One commenter also pointed out, “Arguing with someone over their money is crazy work.”

Commenters continue to share their reactions and opinions on Kellie’s video as it gains popularity, with many expressing frustration that someone’s generosity could allegedly be taken advantage of. While the incident has left some questioning whether it’s worth helping strangers, others hope it won’t discourage people like Kellie from lending a helping hand to those genuinely in need.
