A heated confrontation outside a California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office is gaining traction online after an irate woman approached a man practicing for his motorcycle license test and repeatedly ordered him to leave. The tense exchange, which was captured on video, has sparked debate over who was in the right.
In the video shared to Reddit, an irate woman can be seen confronting a man as he practices for his motorcycle license test in a DMV parking lot. The moments leading up to the confrontation are not shown, with the footage beginning in the middle of an argument. “Pride or wherever the [expletive] you think you’re up to, I will get the police after you, immediately. And Rock Ridge council.” The motorcyclist responds, “You promise?” to which the woman replies, “Yes, absolutely.”
The motorcyclist pretends to be offended and scared, and the woman turns around and snaps, “Shut the [expletive] up! Shut up!” and points at the man. The cameraman then says, “You’re saying my bike is loud? And you’re screaming like that? Don’t touch my material here. These are my possessions.”
As things continue to escalate, the woman yells, “Get out of here! You’re here illegally. He’s an asshole.” At this point, a third individual approaches seemingly to help defuse the heated dispute. The motorcyclist asks her to call the police, and the irate woman also requests for the police to be called, which brings an end to the footage.
After sharing the clip, the uploader provided additional context about what had happened before the recording began. They explained:
Please bear with me. I’ll try to be brief but a lot happened today.
I need to practice to pass my motorcycle license test. Part of the test is to drive around a lollipop shaped course. I rode over to the DMV office and measured the lollipop. They had a large back parking lot. What better place to practice my driving?
I was drawing out my lollipop in chalk when this elderly woman, she lived next door, came over Demanding to know who I was and what I was doing. When I explained my purpose she raised her voice, “I don’t want loud motorcycles, loud kids here driving around, blah blah blah”. Wanting to show her how absolutely quiet my bike is I went over and started it up. She went crazy.
At that point I couldn’t help myself. I held my hands over my ears and screamed, it’s so loud make it stop. She Went Ballistic. Don’t you belittle a woman! Don’t you mock me blah blah blah. In one sentence she pulled the gender card, the race card and the age card. Seriously. I really missed the biggest freak out. What a chance to get a video.
Her partner came over and said she was calling the police. They proceeded to go to the DMV office. I pulled out my license, title, insurance etc and waited for the police.
A manager and security officer calmly walked over to me. We talked about the lollipop and why the parking lot was not a good idea. All the time both women interrupted us, demanding my license, demanding, well, everything. And I mean DEMANDING.

The uploader’s explanation added context that was not shown in the video, though the confrontation itself quickly became the focus of discussion as viewers weighed in on who they believed was in the wrong.
Viewers Debate Who Was in the Wrong
Many Reddit users criticized the woman’s behavior, with some joking about her apparent authority during the confrontation. One commenter quipped, “She’s got a whistle so I assume she’s some high ranking official. Lucky you didn’t get incarcerated, or worse.” Another wrote, “How did I know EXACTLY what she was going to sound like before I unmuted.”
Others viewed the exchange as part of a wider trend. One Reddit user asked, “Why are so many Americans so angry? Y’all need to chill out some.” Another reflected, “How do I not become this in 50 years,” while a further commenter advised the uploader, “You’re in public. You don’t owe them an explanation. You don’t owe them a conversation.”
The confrontation has continued to gain traction on Reddit, where many viewers criticized the woman’s behavior and questioned why a routine practice session escalated into such a heated exchange.
