Ghost in the Shell, one of the most beloved anime’s that debuted over a decade ago, is making a big comeback. The Ghost in the Shell motion picture is slated to be released (according to IMDB) for 2017, and other creative mediums are coming out as well. One of those mediums includes a video game titled Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex First Assault Online.
As you may have guessed from the name, First Assault is a tactical shooter inspired by Ghost in the Shell. Recently, the game offered a closed beta period to fans. First Assault, as it is properly called, is on its way to Steam, Nexon announced today. The free-to-play shooter will also be available via Nexon’s own launcher, but if you prefer Valve’s platform you can add the title to your wishlist and receive a notification as soon as it becomes available.
A lot of people may be wondering why First Assault may be coming to Steam, versus simply being on Nexons launcher. The big reason is that Steam has a huge player base and can offer tons helpful feedback. I am also privy to believe that this gives the game more exposure, which may be necessary considering that Ghost in the Shell is a comparatively old(er) anime, with a new generation of gamers/anime fans.
Despite its upcoming availability, Nexon also confirmed that the game will offer additional beta tests. Timeframes were not provided. The game is set to release in December of 2015 on both Steam and the Nexus launcher. If you can’t wait and want to participate in testing, you can register on the First Assault website. Stay tuned for details!
