During Sony’s PlayStation 5 reveal event, Tango Softworks, the developer behind Evil Within, ย revealed the first bit of gameplay from Ghostwire: Tokyo.ย

Officially announced during Bethesda’s 2019 E3 showcase, this official gameplay trailer showed off ghoulish enemies, supernatural abilities and breathtaking Tokyo cityscapes.

According to Bethesda, here is a brief look at the synopsis:

After strange disappearances hit Tokyoโ€™s population, itโ€™s up to you to uncover the source and purge the city of a strange, new evil. Armed with your own mysterious abilities, you will face down the occult, unravel conspiracy theories and experience urban legends like never before.
Donโ€™t fear the unknown. Attack it.

Kenji Kimura, Game Director on Ghostwire: Tokyo commented on bringing the experience to PlayStation 5, “This version of Tokyo is not a version youโ€™ve ever seen or heard before. In Ghostwire: Tokyo, youโ€™ll hear and encounter sounds that you normally would not hear in the city in real life. Our hope is that with the 3D sound, you will feel compelled to seek out and identify what is causing those sounds you hear.”

According to the showcase,ย Ghostwire: Tokyo is set to release sometime in 2021 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
