God is a Geek owner Calvin Robinson recently copied Elon Musk‘s Nazi salute at an anti-abortion summit. This gesture led to the simultaneous resignation of the website staff in protest. In an official statement, the editorial team explained that Robinson had not been involved with the website for many years. Unfortunately, his recent stunt was the last straw. The team stated that they did not support, share, or condone the website owner’s politics or actions.

Father Calvin Robinson finished his remarks at the National Pro-Life Summit by throwing an Elon Musk salute, much to the delight of the crowd.

The God is a Geek editorial team believed that, after Robinson’s act of copying Elon Musk, they had to distance themselves from the owner. In addition to resigning from the website, they plan to create a new site where they will publish their content. “It will be hard to start again, hard to walk away from the work we’ve done here off our own backs, but this is the right thing to do,” the editorial team wrote.

Robinson defended his action, stating that it was ‘a joke’ meant to mock hysterical ‘liberals’ who had called Elon Musk a Nazi for performing the same salute. He insisted that he wasn’t a Nazi and blamed the public for misunderstanding his gesture. “You can consider my joke crass. But I ask you to consider if your responses have been proportionate?” Robinson wrote.

Despite Robinson’s defense, the Anglican Catholic Church revoked his license. In an official statement, the ACC said that the God is a Geek owner likely aimed to curry favor with certain American political factions by provoking their opposition. The organization stated that he had been warned not to engage in online trolling or similar actions. “Clearly, he has not, and as such, his license in this Church has been revoked. He is no longer serving as a priest in the ACC,” the ACC wrote.

Gamers on Reddit are fully supportive of the decision the God is a Geek staff is making. “That is an impressive amount of integrity they’re showing!” one Redditor commented. Many agreed that Robinson’s act was unacceptable, but some also wished that Elon Musk had received some punishment for his action.
