Update 4.01 for God of War Ragnarok has arrived, and here are all the changes and improvements mentioned in the patch notes. This update is fairly small in terms of both size and changes. The patch size is only around 235 MB and brings a handful of bug fixes and removes some crashes. Here is the complete list of patch notes for update 4.01 for God of War Ragnarok:

Bug Fixes

  • Addressed a bug where “Dragon Slayer” trophy cannot be earned during NG+ if the player did not craft the Dragon Scale armor during their first playthrough on base game.
  • Addressed a bug where the “Phalanx” trophy will not be earned if the player crafts a 9+ shield prior to crafting every other type of shield.

Quests and Progression

  • Fixed a case where the central sword would not show properly if restarting from checkpoint during the challenges in Muspelheim.

Stability and Performance

  • Fixed two rare crashes that could occur during gameplay.

The previous update for God of War Ragnarok, update 4.0, brought some highly demanded-changes to the game. The patch brought New Game+, which will make it possible for players to finally replay the game while retaining all their powers and gear.

God of War Ragnarok was already quite stable when it launched, the game only had a small number of major bugs that needed ironing out, after which it is quite rare for players to run into anything game-breaking. Ragnarok has been killing it since its release, winning numerous awards across the board. The only game that has been topping Ragnarok in terms of awards is, of course, Elden Ring.

Update 4.01 for God of War Ragnarok is available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 exclusively. For more information on future updates and patch notes, head over to the official God of War Ragnarok website here.
