While Justin is going through a tough time with his grandfather’s passing, it seems that having Hailey by his side has made things a bit easier for him. Fans are grateful that he doesn’t have to be alone at a time like this.

The new photo of Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber arrived just hours after the Canadian star announced that his maternal grandfather, Bruce Dale, had died. He shared the devastating news on Instagram by sharing a throwback photo of himself with Bruce. The sweet moment showed Justin as a teenager holding his grandfather’s face as the two looked at each other in awe.
To go along with his post, Justin wrote a lengthy message recalling his favorite memory with Bruce: attending hockey games together. He misses when the two would splurge on snacks. He also remembers Bruce constantly complaining about the “horrible referee calls.” After sharing the anecdote, Justin told his grandfather he would see him “soon in heaven.”
“I will miss u. I will ache,” Justin wrote. He ended his message by telling Bruce that he would honor his memory by never forgetting the “wonderful times” they’ve shared.
In a follow-up post, Justin shared a video of him as a young kid running up to his grandfather to give him a hug and kiss.
Bruce Dale was the father of Justin Bieber’s mother, Pattie Mallette. According to an obituary posted online, he died “peacefully” in hospice on Thursday, April 24. He was 80 years old.
