Harrison Ford, 82, Won’t Retire Yet Amid ‘Stupid’ Phase of Career but Fans Demand: ‘Give It Up, Old Action Man!’

He just won’t leave

Harrison Ford isn’t ready to hang up his acting boots just yet. The veteran actor has remained booked and busy since breaking out in 1977 as Han Solo in Star Wars. Decades later, at 82, he continues to dominate the screens with two new TV shows— 1923 and Shrinking—and a movie—Captain America: Brave New World. With no signs of slowing down, fans continue to wonder, “When will Harrison Ford retire?”

Well, the Air Force One actor gave an answer in a recent interview. When asked when it would be time to take a step back from Hollywood, Harrison affirmatively answered, “When you forget my name.” His response is a stark difference from his confession earlier this month. While chatting with the Wall Street Journal in a rare sit-down, the five-time Golden Globe winner revealed he is ready to “stop working” on camera. “But I wanna finish what I’m doing,” he added. Harrison explained that once he hangs up his Hollywood boots, he would “like to spend more time flying” and “more time with my family at home.”

It is unsure what changed Harrison Ford’s opinion, but fans online think it is time for him to retire.

“Johnny Carson was right, ‘Some people just dont know when to get off the stage,” one fan slammed.

“He’s been retired for 20 years…He just doesn’t know it,” a second user mocked.

“Give it up, old action man,” a third comment read. “Well past your use-by-date, and to use an old movie biz quote, probably box-office poison.”

“Please retire. You just look OLD and dilapidated. You really do,” this harsh remark read.

Harrison Ford Laments Current Career, Feels ‘A Little Bit Too Everywhere’

Although the Indiana Jones actor still feels pumped about being on our screens, he admitted to ET Online that he doesn’t feel the best about his career. When asked to describe the current phase, Harrison sharply answered, “Stupid,” before adding:

“I’m a little bit too everywhere for my sensibilities.”

Alongside the TV shows and movies, Ford also made a surprising appearance in a Super Bowl commercial for Jeep. Explaining why he has a stretch of projects at such a prime, old age, Harrison told the interviewer, “I ran into a vein of really good writing, and I thought I’d take advantage of it, and I’m really glad I did.”

With Apple TV’s Shrinking renewed for a third season, fans are bound to see Ford on their screens. However, the same can’t be said of viewers of Paramount+ drama, 1923. When asked if he would return for season three, he coyly answered, “I just work here.”

While some fans might be bored of seeing Harrison Ford on screen, it cannot be denied that still actively at 82 is a major feat. When he does decide to retire, he will surely be missed!
