Blizzard has officially revealed the next major Hearthstone expansion will be available April 26.
Whispers of the Old Gods will offer 134 brand new cards to the ever growing set. Many of which are re-imaginings of some old favorites, such as Ragnaros the Light Lord and Corrupted Loot Hoarder. Blizzard explains in their post “The Old Gods are benevolent (we cannot stress that enough) entities of supreme power who have come to show everyone just how much fun everything can be when you relax, and stop worrying so much! Some of your favorite adversaries and allies from the tavern have already met the Old Gods, and are much, much better for it!”
Whispers of the Old Gods is Hearthstone’s third expansion, it will be available for purchase through the in-game purchase on April 26 for PC, MAC, iOS and Android in the Americas region. Europe and Asia will, unfortunately, have to wait until April 27 to get their hands on the new cards. Players can pre-purchase 50 packs of Whispers of the Old Gods until the expansion goes live, and will receive an exclusive card back !
With the new expansion on the horizon, Blizzard has yet to announce when the new play formats will launch. Standard play will only feature the most recent sets of cards while the Wild format will allow players to use cards from every set.
