tinyBuild is well known for making a lot of different games and helping smaller developers gain their footing. While not all of them have been great critically, they still show a lot of passion from the developers that make them. You likely know them from their most critically acclaimed game Hello Neighbor. Today, tinyBuild announces that their next game, in partnership with developer Cradle Games, arrives on July 30th. It’s known as Hellpoint and is coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The teams celebrated the news with a trailer, showing off what you can expect from the game’s co-op.

Hellpoint - Co-op Trailer | Out July 30 | Pre-order now! PC PS4 X1 Switch

Hellpoint puts you on the planet of Irid Novo, a massive world full of mysteries and secrets to discover. It’s not all fun and games though, as the world is filled with a myriad of nasty creatures for you to take on. It only gets worse and you move on, so be ready for a serious fight. You have many tools at your disposal though, and I mean many. There are dozens of weapons for you to choose from, and each one levels up as you use it and progress. You can even bring your friends along for the action, making Hellpoint a potentially great way to play a souls-like co-op.

The trailer only further enhances these claims, showing a world that’s equally intriguing and grotesque. The space station offers a lot of diverse areas, each with its enemy types and even some that spawn dynamically. This all combines to make each playthrough feel different than the last and should give a lot of replayability. It reminds me a lot of Dark Souls but with much more sci-fi and gruesome aesthetics plus some tricks up its sleeve. It’s gonna have to do a lot to stand on its own compared to Dark Souls though, as other games have proven.

Hellpoint

I, for one, am hopeful for Hellpoint and would be happy to see it exceed. I’d love to hear your thoughts though. Have you played any other souls-like titles? Does Hellpoint seem like it will succeed? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
