Get ready resistance fighters because this weekend, Philadelphia needs you in Homefront: The Revolution.
Kicking off on February 11th is Homefront: The Revolution Closed Beta. This multiplayer beta is currently available ONLY for the Xbox One. The Beta will run until the 14th so prepare your Valentine love now that you just might need to take a rain check on that dinner. Unless of course you’re both knee deep in shell casings fighting together against the Koreans to take back Philadelphia. In that case, you are going to have an awesome Valentines Day.
Over the past two weeks, Dambuster Studios has been running Homefront through several stress tests and are now prepared to proceed with the closed beta. You can check out the Homefront website and hopefully you’ll be able to snag a code. Several sites have also been able to give away a bulk of beta codes and if you’re lucky you may have been able to grab one. It appears that Resistance Mode will take center stage in the closed beta this weekend and it’s not your traditional run and gun.
Resistance mode in Homefront is a four-player co-op experience. Players will form a “Resistance Cell” online and do battle with the KPA in Philadelphia. Players will go through stages of progression advancing their characters through battle. Going through these battles will unlock new weapons, gear skills and equipment. These missions are said to fit into the larger narrative of Homefront. When the game officially launches in May 2016 there will be 12 of these missions with an additional 20 being added over the next year and they’re all FREE.

Homefront the Revolution has had a difficult development after already being pushed back from 2015 to 2016 not to mention the mixed reviews from the original release. Publisher Deep Silver is confident that the additional time will how allowed fine tuning of the game to turn it into a best-selling title. Are you excited to give the beta a try this weekend? Be sure to let us know in the comments below and check back for future updates.
