A woman in Cincinnati, Ohio, broke down in tears after a police officer gave her a ticket while DoorDashing, despite begging him not to. According to her, she was already working to pay a previous ticket, and she also lives in the car she uses to deliver food.
The woman in question is Benedte Beya. She is a well-known content creator who, since 2024, has been homeless following a severe psychosis episode, and she has been living in her car since then. The clip attached above was the first one in over 9 months, garnering 740,400 views, 175,200 likes, and more than 12,300 comments.
From the get-go, the Ohio woman seemed very upset, with tears streaming down her cheeks. She detailed that she had just gotten a ticket while DoorDashing, even though she attempted to convince the officer otherwise.
“I begged, and I plead [sic] to this [expletive] cop, and I told him I live in my car, like, I’m going through it right now,” Benedte said. “I’m trying to get my life together, like, can you please not give me this ticket? And he gave me the ticket anyways.”
‘Trying To Get My Life Together’
According to her, the ticket will set her back $200. Given her living situation, that’s a pretty hefty sum to come up with. Worst of all, she was already working to pay a previous $200 ticket.
“I’m trying to get my life together,” Benedte said. “I’m trying to get back on my feet, but I can’t do it when every fucking thing keeps trying to push me back down.” The Ohio woman then bashed Cincinnati, saying that the people in the city were “horrible.”
She detailed that she has tried working several jobs after she became homeless, including housekeeping as a cleaner. However, it was so physically demanding that he started delivering food through DoorDash. This, unfortunately, led to multiple parking tickets that have made her job unsustainable, on top of her malfunctioning car.
“If you’re gonna [expletive] be passing around tickets like it’s [expletive] candy, I’m so [expletive] done,” she concluded.
Reactions
The video sparked multiple responses online.
Some viewers told Benedte not to give up and fight back. One said, “Girl, go to court and plead to the judge.” Another one criticized the ticket, saying, “$200 for a parking ticket?!! That’s absurd.”
Others called out the officer for the alleged lack of compassion. One wrote, “Sympathy is rare these days. We’re all going through our own things; we should be giving each other grace.” Another one joined her in her feelings about Cincinnati, saying, “You are so right, that place is a hellhole, which is why I left.”
In a follow-up clip, Benedte said that she was “done” and not paying the ticket.
