Once you complete Diablo 4‘s long campaign and reach the ending, Helltide Events appear, which provide fantastic rewards. The Helltide Events in Diablo 4 will have you fight waves of monsters to obtain Aberrant Cinders, which you can exchange for unique rewards. Finding these Helltide Events isn’t easy, and preparing for them is challenging since their appearance isn’t always predictable. If you don’t know what you are doing, rushing into one without a good co-op team is a bad idea. Here’s what you must know about Diablo 4’s Helltide Events and what to do when they appear.

What You Must Know About Diablo 4’s Helltide Events

Helltide Events appear after completing the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon, which allows you to reach World Tier 3: Nightmare. There isn’t a set time for Helltide Events to appear, though they can occur shortly after defeating World Bosses. When they appear, they will be in one of the five regions: Fractured Peaks, Scosglen, Dry Steppes, Kehjistan, or Hawezar. The region where the Event happens will turn red to let you know where you must go if you want to participate.

The event lasts for one hour, and your goal is to defeat as many enemies as possible. Enemies will drop Aberrant Cinders, which is the event currency you can exchange for rewards. You can see how many Aberrant Cinders you have in the top right corner of your screen. If you die during the Helltide Event, you will lose some of your Aberrant Cinders, but you can rejoin the fight.

Unique enemies like Helltide Commanders and Bosses will also appear during these events. They are difficult to take down but provide rare drops and equipment if you are successful. You also get a considerable amount of Aberrant Cinders, more than you would get from fighting enemies individually.

Aberrant Cinders disappear once the Helltide Event ends; you must exchange them before that happens. Special treasure chests called Tortured Gifts are the reward exchange, allowing you to cash in your Aberrant Cinders. You can trade for equipment and jewelry but risk your earnings on a Mystery Prize that could give you something amazing.

The Helltide Events in Diablo 4 aren’t the only endgame activity you can do, as there are Paragon Boards and Nightmare Dungeons to explore. But now that you know what Helltide Events are, you can plan to take them on. Find a good team or get a good build, then venture into the Helltide Event for great rewards. Remember to cash in before the Event ends, or you lose everything you worked for.
