This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Once Human‘s Closed Beta Test 3 officially commenced on April 5, 2024, after the initial release date was delayed due to debugging and optimization issues. All returning players from the previous beta will have automatic access to the test using their existing accounts. But how long will the Closed Beta Test run for? Thankfully, all the information we need can be found on the game’s official website.

When Does the Once Human Beta End?

According to the game’s website, the Closed Beta Test 3 will “extend for approximately 42 days, maintaining the duration of the previous test.” That means the beta is expected to end in early June, around June 2 or June 3.

As for Once Human‘s exact release date for the finished product, Steam has it listed as Q3 2024. For the uninitiated in video game jargon, Q3 refers to the third quarter of the year. This means we can expect to see the polished version of the game somewhere between July and September.

What Is Once Human?

From developers Starry Studio and NetEase Inc. comes Once Human, a multiplayer survival horror game based in a post-apocalyptic, open-world environment. The aim of the game is to unite with friends to defeat monstrous creatures roaming the land, all while competing for resources and building territory.

Once Human CBT3 Official Trailer

Aside from assembling a team and taking on enemies, Once Human rewards exploration as investigating human settlements will introduce players to different factions. Some are friendly and helpful, others are violent and hostile. But discovering these areas will uncover secrets about Stardust, the alien creature that infests humans, plants, and animals.

It should be noted that Once Human will only be available on PC, not on Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch.

Naturally, that is only an estimate for the time being. The game’s social media, X, frequently posts updates about the status of the beta trial, and any issues communicated to the developers are being hastily addressed. If you’re looking for more information, the game’s subreddit is another good information hub.
