Up for a challenge? Well, you’ll have to anyway. So here’s how to beat the first boss fight in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is an action-adventure game that puts players in the role of a young warrior on a quest to save his homeland from an ancient evil. The game features challenging boss fights that test your combat skills and strategy. The first boss in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty can be particularly tough to beat if you’re unprepared. This guide will provide tips and strategies for bringing him down.
How to Beat First Boss Fight in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
Phase 1
In the first phase, you’ll need to constantly switch between attacking and defending. The first boss will punish you unforgivingly and relentlessly. It’s like a lethal tutorial for the game’s combat, so listen for these tips: evade turtling and instead focus on deflecting the first boss’ attacks and returning damage with with your own.
When your Spirit is high, try landing a Spirit blow to shrink the first boss’ Spirit Gauge, leaving him vulnerable to a Fatal Blow hit. Stay generous with your strikes, and watch out for Zhang Liang’s —the first boss fight in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty— unblockable Critical Blows, like his close or large-ranged wallop. After a Fatal Blow, go for a Martial Arts comeback while he’s recovering for extra damage. Once you deplete his health bar, prepare for Phase 2.
Phase 2: Beat First Boss Fight in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
Zhang Liang amps his powers with some wicked demonic mojo, turning into a hulking beast. Despite the makeover, the tactics for taking him down in Phase 2 are the same as in Phase 1.
Phase 2 starts with a sweeping AoE attack that’s best avoided or jumped over, as it’s too tough to deflect. When Zhang Liang bangs his weapon into the floor, dodge or avoid the spike column that comes at you afterward. When he points a weapon your way, dodge to the side to avoid a lunge attack. Next, watch out for the boss’s long-range Critical Blow, where they wind up a punch with their freakish hand. Dodge in the direction of the attack to avoid it and slice his Spirit Gauge in half. From there, dish out as much pain as possible and finish them with a Fatal Blow when their Spirit is fully depleted.
At around half the health of the first boss fight in Wo Long Fallen Dynasty, the boss will shriek and detonate an AoE explosion. Keep your distance when you see the red glow, so you don’t get caught up in it. Charge the Divine Beast meter by deflecting Critical Blows and you’re good to go.
