When The Forest launched, it gave players a nice survival-horror experience, bringing many original things to the genre. A lot of people loved the idea of traversing through a dense forest in the hopes of finding their kid. Now, the second game is here, and it brings some of the old stuff with some sweet new features. One of the things that players loved from the first title is the building mechanic. It is so nice and realistic to a point that it lets the creative juices flow. While some might think building in the game isn’t important, it is. You need to get a base as soon as possible if you want to increase your chances of survival. So, if you’re looking to build high up in the sky, today we’ll tell you how to build stairs in Sons of the Forest.

How to build stairs in Sons of the Forest

Building stairs in the game shouldn’t take too long, but it’ll require you to get some items first. Just like many other structures, you’ll need to get a lot of logs to start building. To build stars in Sons of the Forest, you’ll need the following items:

  • An axe
  • 10 or more logs

We say 10 or more logs because it depends on how many stairs you want your structure to have. If you already have all that’s needed, here are the steps you have to follow to build stairs in Sons of the Forest:

  • Place 2 logs vertically and one horizontally, resting on top of the vertical ones
  • Go to the corner of each vertical log and add a log to each in a ramp-like fashion
  • Cut your other logs in half and add them as stairs to the structure
  • Keep going until you have your desired set of stairs

While the steps sound convoluted on paper, they are a lot easier to follow once you’re in the game. You’ll need to gather many logs if you plan to make a base way above the enemies. We always recommend that you build near a river, so you have access to food and water. But, with stairs, anything is possible, and you can create your little village above the trees.

You can get Sons of the Forest right now on PC.
