As you progress through BG3, you’ll be able to find dozens and hundreds of unique weapons and unlock tons of spells to support you from range. But having a powerful melee weapon in the early stages of an adventure can make all the difference. Luckily, by visiting Blighted Village, you can find a recipe and create a relatively powerful weapon that has increased damage and forbids targets from using Verbal spells. And we are here to help you and tell you how to complete the Finish the Masterwork Weapon quest in BG3.

As you probably already know, to accept the Finish the Masterwork Weapon quest in Baldur’s Gate 3, you must visit a small house in Blighted Village east of the Windmill. A Highcliff’s journal left behind a barrel in a small closet contains information about the Masterwork Weapon. All you have to do is find the main ingredient and create one of three variations of the powerful melee weapon.

In addition, you must find the recipe hidden in the basement and the key that will be useful to you on the finish line. So go down to the first floor and approach the large pit. Take the little key on the boxes to the right of the pit and save it for later. Now use any source of fire (torch or spell) to burn the web in the hole and go down. Once at the bottom, go up the stairs and inspect the chest to find Highcliff’s blueprints. But before that, disarm the trap on the chest.

Where To Find Final Ingredient – Sussur Bark

From the blueprints, you’ll learn about Sussur Bark, the final ingredient for crafting the weapon, and here’s how to find it:

  • Travel to the Underdark and find the Sussur Tree. The giant roots of this tree are relatively easy to spot, but the image above will help you find the right spot.
  • Next, climb the vines to reach the roots and get closer to the tree trunk. You don’t need to use tools to get Sussur Bark, so grab it. But keep in mind that there are a lot of dangerous monsters here, and you probably can’t avoid a couple of battles.

Once you have the Sussur Bark, return to the house and use the key you obtained earlier to enter the workshop outside the building. Next, here’s what you need to do to complete Finish the Masterwork Weapon quest in BG3:

  • Interact with the Melting Furnace to light the fire and use the blacksmith’s bellows to increase the heat.
  • Interact with the Melting Furnace again and place a Sussur Bark on the empty slot to color the furnace blue.
  • Next, place any dagger, greatsword, or sickle in the empty Melting Furnace slot, after which you will see a cutscene with the creation of a new weapon.

After the finish of the process, you will get your Sussur Dagger, Sussur Greatsword, or Sussur Sickle. Besides the base damage, this weapon will get a +1 effect and will silence the enemies preventing them from casting Verbal spells.
