The Interceptor MWZ mission is a tier 2 objective in the new Modern Warfare 3 – MW3 Zombies mode. In fact, this is the only mission you need to accomplish in the second tier of Act I, and it tasks you to intercept a mercenary convoy. The assignment is straightforward, but the mercenary convoy doesn’t have a particular location where you can find them. However, there’s a trick for locating these mercs.
What Are The Objectives of The Interceptor Mission in MWZ?
- Find and destroy the mercenary convoy.
- Obtain the Stronghold Keycard item dropped by the convoy.
So, in the MW3 Zombies Interceptor mission, we’re looking for a bunch of mercs that are randomly moving around the map. The mercenary convoy is a gang of three armored vehicles with regular and elite soldiers. Once you find them, all you need to do is set an ambush and shoot them down.
If you shoot their cars only once, all three of them will stop and fight back. Remember to level up your weapons before this fight and kill them all. These soldiers mean real business, and if you let your guard down, you’ll be eliminated by just a few shots. Once you’ve taken out these poor NPCs, it’s time to loot them. One of the soldiers in this convoy has a Stronghold Keycard, and you’ll have to find it. Pick the key, and the MWZ Interceptor mission is complete.
Where To Find The Mercenary Convoy?
The mercenary convoy is rotating around the map on the twin roads in MWZ. If you follow the highway you see in the image above, you’ll be able to spot the convoy driving around. You have to do this quickly and with patience; they might not show up fast as their spawning place on the map is totally random. Remember to pick a heavy vehicle and max out its gas and HP via a gas station. There are lots of zombies to roll over on the way, and it’s so unfortunate to reach the convoy while not having enough gas to follow and stop them.
One more important thing to note about the MWZ Interceptor missions is that the assignment’s segments are currently bugged. It seems like you can’t always find the mercenary keycard, as it happened many times during my experience. Finding the convoy is guaranteed, but sometimes you won’t just find the keycard, and you have to exfil to play another match. Keep in mind that the chance of an Elite PMC soldier dropping the mercenary keycard is higher than the others. The rank and type of each enemy are written over their heads, so pay attention to tracking the Elites first.
