If you make your way west of Vernworth in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you might come across the quaint little hamlet of Checkpoint Rest Town. Unfortunately, the apothecary there, Morris, needs help finding his grandson, Rodge. According to a nearby NPC, he has been dragged away by wolves. To make matters worse, Prey for the Pack is an urgent quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2, which means you can fail if too much time passes.
Where to Find Rodge in Prey for the Pack in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Now, before you set off, I suggest you have a full party of Pawns. You’ll be fighting bandits, harpies, wolves, and an ogre (which you can ignore). The bandits are particularly nasty because they’ll steal items from you. I recommend having two melee characters and two ranged, preferably a mage and archer.
Since time is of the essence, your first step is to speak with Lutz outside the apothecary. He’ll tell you that a few witnesses saw Rodge. The two witnesses you should speak with are Alsa and Jacint, located by the well at the stone bridge.
Once your party is ready, cross the stone bridge and follow the road east. Use your map for guidance; speaking with Alsa and Jacint actually gives you a quest marker.
It takes you straight to a grave site amongst ruins, but the trail’s cold now. Get close to the river and follow it east until you find a waterfall. In doing so, you’ll find a small rope bridge to cross.
Now, keep following the road east. It winds a bit, so to stay on the right path, you’ll essentially follow the river to its end.
It drops off to a few waterfalls, then into a massive pool that leads into a cavern. Ignore the cavern for now (and resist the urge to explore).
Your concern is the nearby opening. Take that path instead, as it’ll lead you straight to Putrid Cave, where Rodge is located. As you’re following the path, don’t forget to pick up the Golden Trove Beetle to increase your carry weight. In Putrid Cave, dispose of the wolves and lead Rodge home.
One last tip: Rodge can be carried. If he gets stuck or you run into some monsters, it’s best to pick Rodge up and avoid them entirely.
