The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild: How To Complete the Cryonis Trial
First, you’ll need to make your way to the Keh Namut Shrine. Once there, use your Sheikah Slate in order to gain entry to the Shrine and access the Trial.
Once inside, head over to the pedestal and use your Sheikah Slate once more to unlock your new ability.
A message will pop up saying that you learned Cryonis, an ability that allows you to create platforms out of ice in the water that can be used as stepping stones.
Now, head over to the first wall and activate your Cryonis next to the gate. This will allow you to climb up and onto the platform to proceed to the next area.
Once you’re up on top of the platform, head over toward the gate that is blocking your path. This time, rather than trying to climb over the gate, we will be going under the gate. This may not seem possible, but I promise it is. Activate Cryonis and position your pillar directly below the gate.
Once in place, create the pillar. This will push the gate up along with the pillar as it grows out of the water below.
Head under the gate and into the next room. Be careful as you round the corner, as an enemy is waiting for you on the other side. It is best to take the enemy out with your bow, but if that isn’t possible, you can trop the enemy in one area using Cryonis so that you can swing at it with a melee weapon without it running away on you. Once you are done, be sure to collect the Ancient Spring that will drop from the fallen enemy.
Before you head into the next area, look up. You should see a small area on one of the walls that contain a chest. Using Cryonis, you can climb up to the chest to obtain a Traveler’s Spear.
Now, turn around and look at the platform in front of you.
In order to progress to the next area, you will have to use your Cryonis ability to raise a pillar beneath one side of the platform. Either side will work exactly the same, and once you’ve done it, the platform will turn into a ramp, allowing you to climb up.
Once you reach the next level, you will be able to approach Keh Nemut, the Monk who created the Cryonis Trial. Speak to Keh Nemut, and you will be awarded a Spirit Orb for completing the Trial.
