After rescuing Hans and meeting with your allies, Henry’s next task is to infiltrate an important meeting. Sigismund is currently trying to take over Bohemia, and the group must find out his plan. To do that, Henry will need to pretend to be a servant serving wine to the nobles during the meeting. While the start of The King’s Gambit quest seems boring, things become more interesting as you control Godwin in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. In this mission, you will see the two fighting groups plan and scheme to reach their goals.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 The King’s Gambit Quest Guide
After speaking with Ulrich Vavak, you learn that to infiltrate the council meeting, you must pretend to be a servant. Vavak says that Henry can take the place of another young man who is supposed to work during the meeting. Your next goal in The King’s Gambit quest is to find Franta Kuldaun in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. You can find him speaking with a tailor during the day. Here’s how you can convince him:

How To Serve the Kuttenberg Councillors
Once you convince Kuldaun, you need to wear the royal waiter set. Remember to unequip your weapons so you appear harmless. Then, you can find the Majordomo, who will let you into the building. You need to wait for Sigismund to arrive while serving the nobles. There are two wines available for serving:
- Red: Monastery
- White: Tokaji
Note that you cannot serve Adam of Zarzitz, as marked in the image above. When he asks you for wine, you can simply reject his request. However, you must follow the instructions of the other nobles. Besides serving wine, two nobles will give you unique orders.
Bailiff Andreas Plumel will ask you to find his stolen goblet. It’s located nearby. Just head up the stairs in the chamber and enter the small room. You can find the item on the table. On the other hand, Franz Rosenthal will tell you to bring him his gloves, which are inside another adjacent room. He’ll also ask you to count the number of winged creatures on the murals, but you can just answer randomly since this doesn’t matter.
How To Get Support in The King’s Gambit Quest
After Sigismund arrives, the game will let you control Godwin, who’s also in a meeting with Wenceslas’ supporters. There is a lot of talking in this section of The King’s Gambit quest, but you will eventually be tasked with getting the support of three people.
Haman Alder is the closest one, as he’s sitting in the next room. There is a lot of bad blood between Godwin and his father, and you’ll eventually need to fight Christopher. It doesn’t matter whether you win or lose against him, as he’ll agree to help Godwin afterward.
After fighting Godwin’s younger brother, you’ll be outside in the courtyard. The second person you need to approach is Botschek of Kunstadt. Go up the stairs and enter the first room to your left. He’ll be sitting at a table, and you need to convince him by suggesting that Hans marry Botschek’s niece. Godwin will need to inform Hanush of Leipa in the courtyard, but he’ll readily agree.
Anna of Waldstein is the hardest person to find since the game doesn’t mark her. She’s sitting in a room on the second floor. Just go up the stairs in the courtyard and enter the second door to your left. You can find her sitting next to the window. She’ll tell Godwin to steal some documents from a saddle in the stables. There’s a stablehand nearby, and you need to pass a skill check if you get caught.
How To Serve Sigismund in KCD2
After you’re done with Godwin’s section in The King’s Gambit quest, you’ll control Henry again. This time, you need to serve the enemy King, Sigismund. You’ll need to be quick on your feet and pay close attention to their words.
He’ll ask to be served three times. However, in the last request, Markvard will tell you to pour the King red wine, but Sigismund says that he wants white wine. The King will then ask Henry to toast with him, and you need to go along and say, “To victory!”
