Want to know how to complete The Owl Protected by Dragons side quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom? Exploring ancient ruins is a common thing for Link, as the history of the world of Hyrule is incredibly long. But to learn all the secrets of Typhlo Ruins, Link’s knowledge and skills will not be enough, and he will need the help of four different Sages. The first trial is The Owl Protected by Dragons, during which you must become one with the wind. And if you’re up for it, we’re here to help and tell you how to complete The Owl Protected by Dragons in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

First, it is worth noting that The Owl Protected by Dragons quest is part of a more global Investigate The Typhlo Ruins side quest. This challenge has four stages, and if you follow the order of the tablets, The Owl Protected by Dragons is the first of them. However, the order of the quests doesn’t matter; you can complete them randomly and at any time.

To complete the entire Investigate The Typhlo Ruins quest chain, you will need the help of the four main Sages, and you can’t get around this limitation. But for the first stage, it will be enough for you to enlist the support of Sage of Wind Tulin. So, once you’ve read the first tablet and talked to NPC Kazul, here’s what you need to do to complete The Owl Protected by Dragons in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom:

  • Climb over the stone fence behind the tablets.
  • Approach the stone platform in front of the owl statue and stand in front of it.
  • Summon Sage of Wind Tulin and activate it by pressing A on your controller. Direct the air currents to the owl statue, otherwise, nothing will work.
  • If you perform everything right, a stone room with a chest inside will rise from the ground.
  • Open the chest to get three Sapphires and complete The Owl Protected by Dragons quest.

Unfortunately, Sapphires are the only reward for this quest, but you get a lot more by completing all the challenges. First, the final quest line reward is Dusk Claymore (base damage of 32). In addition, you will get some items from Kazul for your help in his research. So hurry up and move on to The Corridor Between Two Dragons stage as soon as possible.

Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
