The latest expansion to The Sims 4 brings baby fever to players. In Growing Together, there is far more you can explore in terms of family dynamics. Infants are one of the most talked about new aspects of the expansion. Besides caring for their basic needs like eating and bathing, you must also hit milestones so that they grow up properly. One of those is Tummy Time. We’ll guide you through how to get your infant to do Tummy Time and what it leads to in The Sims 4 Growing Together.
How to do Tummy Time in The Sims 4
If you don’t know, tummy time is a near-vital component of an infant’s development. It helps them build strength throughout their upper body, making it easier for them to lift their heads and move onto future stages such as rolling over, crawling, etc.
The Sims 4 Growing Together aims to add plenty of realism, which is why participating in Tummy Time is important in the game as well.
Before we get into what the activity accomplishes, let’s show you how you can do it.
One thing must be true before you can do Tummy Time: your infant’s Attention, Bladder, Energy, Hunger, and Hygiene are all green.
Now, with those things done, we can do Tummy Time in The Sims 4.
There are 2 ways you can do this:
- While holding your infant, select them and choose “Tummy Time Together.”
- With the infant on a Playmat, choose “More Choices…”, “Friendly…”, “Activities…” and “Tummy Time Together.”
Your infant will never do Tummy Time on the bare floor in The Sims 4. Instead, if you simply choose to do it either while holding them or setting them down and then doing it, there is a simple rug underneath them.
Otherwise, you can set up a more elaborate Playmat with toys for them to do Tummy Time on.
Regardless, once you do Tummy Time, your infant will cry and squirm around at first. Let them do it, as it’s natural for them to want to get off their stomachs. However, if they keep at it, they will accomplish certain milestones.
Your infant might achieve the Lift Head Milestone. This will occur if they don’t make any movements to roll over at all.
On the other hand, if they don’t struggle with Tummy Time, they will instead unlock the Roll Over to Back Milestone. At the same time, they will also unlock the Roll Over to Tummy Milestone.
Now, be sure your little one is all filled up with their needs and get to tackling Tummy Time so they can move on to even greater things.
The Sims 4 is available on PC, macOS, PlayStation, and Xbox systems.
