The Ant Queen is not an ordinary insect in Grounded; it is a valuable NPC you can interact with during their unique events to receive different rewards. Of course, visiting the insect royalty will not be easy because each one remains protected from danger in their anthills. In addition, each Queen has different routes depending on the offering you bring them, and with the latest update, the New Game + brought some changes. So, prepare your best armor to be among the noble insectoids.

The Red Ant Queen

The red ants are the first ants you face in Grounded, so it will be easier to find their Queen. The Red Ant Queen is at the Red Anthill, near the lower yard west of the first base you encounter. To get to Her Majesty, you must follow this route:

  1. Enter the anthill and follow the path almost straight ahead.
  2. Go against the current of the ants, but if you can’t go straight ahead, take the paths to the right. If you get lost, following the ants always helps.
  3. As soon as you find the Slime Mold Stalk, mushrooms that glow neon, follow them and continue straight ahead.
  4. You will find the Queen in a chamber with larvae, where light enters from above her.

You can get different items from the Queen, but depending on the offerings you give her, each has a different effect on her. Just approach her until the Offer Treat option appears.

The Queen will be your friend, and you will get the following:
Baby Red Ant pet and its gold card.
You can loot the surroundings and the Ant Offerings in the area.
The Red Soldier Ants no longer attack you.
You will receive the Antbassador mutation T1.
The Queen will die, and now you can loot:
Red Ant Queen Chunk x10
Red Ant Queen Head x1
Red Ant Queen Pheromone x5
There will be a new area with many chests.
The Queen will also die, and you will get the same as when you poison her. However, for your next game, the Red Ant Queen will become an Infected Ant Queen, and there will be infected ants in that anthill.

It will be quite a journey to get to the Black Ant Queen as the Black Anthill is to the southwest of the entire map in Grounded, near the sandbox. But the fastest route is:

  1. Go to the west of the map and pass near the toxic green area. You can climb the rocky wall with a cassette ramp.
  2. Continue down one side of the sandbox, careful of the Haze’s toxic fumes. If you have a Gas Mask, it will be much easier.
  3. Keep going straight ahead until you find the hose. You must go around it to where the house and the water faucet are.
  4. You will have a can to your left and a trash bag on your right. Go to the right to a puddle where you must dive in, then swim to the right.
  5. When you surface again, be careful with the toxic fumes and stay close to the wall on your left.
  6. Go to the right side between two bitten apples, and there will be the black anthill.
  7. Again, on the anthill, walk almost straight ahead, and when the Slime Mold Stalk appears, jump to the cliff. Then, go to the right of the cliff wall.
  8. Cables will appear on the ceiling; follow the ones on the right side until you find Access Door B.
  9. Go to the right near the wall, and you will see another Slime Mold Stalk in a doorway. Follow that path until you find three doors.
  10. Go down to where the ants are and go to a passage to the right of the place.
  11. Go down the same path, and you will find the Black Ant Queen.

These are the rewards of each offering for the Black Ant Queen:

The Fire Ant Queen

Finding the fire anthill for the Fire Ant Queen will be challenging because it is over the pond northeast of the map in Grounded. So, you must find a way to jump over the rock wall around the pond. Once on the other side of the pond, you must look for Yogi Swole Head, but be careful because of the height difference. When you are next to the head, go straight ahead to find the Fire Ant Queen.

These are the rewards of each offering for the Fire Ant Queen:

The Queen will be your friend, and you will get the following:
Baby Fire Ant pet and its gold card.
You can loot the surroundings and the Ant Offerings in the area.
The Black Soldier Ants no longer attack you.

Infected Ant Queen

When you give the infected food to an Ant Queen in Grounded, and you start a new game, that ant will become an Infected Ant Queen. This will make two new enemies in the anthill, the Infected Soldier Ant and the Infected Worker Ant. Both infected enemies can’t stand normal ants and are fighting them often, but they will give you new drops to create two new items:

  • Fungnir (Spear T3 that creates explosions with charged attacks)
  • Infected Ant Shield (Shield T3 that reduces damage from explosive attacks)

However, if you return with one of the Infected Ant Queens and give them the Moldy Hoagie, you will receive the Sausager, a new craft station. To build one Sausager, you will need the following:

  • Infected Ant Mandibles x3
  • Infected Ant Part x10
  • Pinecone Piece x10
  • Fungal Growth x10

Furthermore, by using this craft station, there are five recipes that no longer need Ant Eggs. To craft them, you need these ingredients:

Infected Ant Part x1DeDuper Jelly x4Fungal Growth x2
Dry Grass Chunk x4
Web Fiber x2
Bratburst x1

With update 1.4 of Grounded, the best option is to infect all Queens because you can also create other armor sets besides getting their loots and chests with rare items. Also, you can try the different paths for your new game with the New Game + after getting all the materials. Whatever path you pick, one thing’s sure: getting them all will be a royal pain.
