Once you’ve explored the central valley of Natlan, it’ll be time to investigate the more distant areas and the dangers lurking in them. In a northern mountain, there is talk of a flying terror, although in Genshin Impact, there are dragons, and this boss looks like one; the Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant is actually a Saurian. Although the civilians of Natlan have companionship relations with their Saurians, the Qucusaur is a wild and very dangerous one. Fortunately, it stays away from the main settlements and tribes. But it’s not bad to challenge it, especially if you need the Ascension materials for characters like Mualani.
Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant Location in Genshin Impact
Natlan’s geography is very varied, so to get to this boss, be sure to bring your best exploration team. I took Wanderer and Kachina to get over the cliffs and to help me climb the mountains quickly. The rest depends on you following these steps:
- Go to the Teleport Waypoint Basin of Unnumbered Flames in Natlan, located to the north on Huitztli Hill.
- Many rock formations will be along the way, but you must follow the path. You will come to a cave in the interior of the mountain.
- Follow the waterfall until you find the Teleport Waypoint inside the cave.
From the Genshin Impact Teleport Waypoint, you will see the “floating” combat arena and the cloud from where the Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant appears. Underneath, there will be more enemies and a chest, so remember to investigate after your fight.
How To Beat the Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant
This Saurian boss has an interesting mechanism in which it gathers energy from its environment and changes shape. Its normal appearance is that of a giant “dragon,” but it transforms into a small “dragon” with a golden glow. This change occurs when this boss is surrounded by a dark red aura. At that moment, according to the instructions, players should take advantage of using Elements that react with Pyro. I had the Shogun, Kokomi, and Nahida on my team, who helped interrupt this Qucusaur phase. Although Catalyst or Bow characters are better for this fight, as the boss is usually flying and throwing projectiles that chase you. When you interrupt this mode of the enemy, return to its normal form.
In normal form, the Qucusaur is not flying but uses more of a slash attack with its claws and wings. When there is a little more distance, it makes a charged attack similar to a drill dash, which you can dodge by jumping to one of the sides. It also has an attack in which it hits the ground with its front wings/legs. This does AoD, so try to put some distance between them to avoid damage.
Remember, for this fight, try to bring a character with Ranged attacks to be able to hit this “dragon” when it is moving a lot in the air. By defeating the Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant, you’ll get items like Mark of the Binding Blessing and Agnidus Agate to Ascend some of the Genshin Impact characters from Natlan.
