In Baldur’s Gate 3, you need to find Halsin’s location to rescue the Druid if you want to save Emerald Grove. He’s the First Druid of Emerald Grove, but he’s not around for the current battle since the goblins captured him. So, you’re off to the Goblin Camp. Unfortunately, Halsin’s location isn’t the easiest to narrow down. We’ll help guide you to the First Druid if you want a new companion. Of course, you can instead side against the druids in Emerald Grove and defeat Halsin. Either way, we’ll get you there.
Halsin’s Location in Baldur’s Gate 3
Whether you plan to rescue the Druid Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3 or join the goblins in their raiding, you must find the Goblin Camp. It’s nowhere near the Emerald Grove, so you’ll have some walking to do. From the Emerald Grove, head west until you encounter the Blighted Village. Southwest of the Blighted Village is a bridge you can cross. Once you do, head north. The Goblin Camp is nearby.
On your quest to find Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3, different players will have different experiences in this area. Drows or half-Drows will walk through with little difficulty. It further helps if you have high Charisma or Wisdom stats. Non-Drow players can experience more hostility. If you don’t mind cutting down some goblins, then proceed away. For those players, if you want extra help, you can always rescue the goblin Sazza in the Grove. It will make your journey almost as easy as Drow and half-Drow players.
Navigating the Goblin Camp
To find Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3, venture forward whether you sneak, talk your way through, or kill every goblin in your path. From the Goblin Camp waypoint, go southwest toward a courtyard. Head north until you see large, heavy doors with a giant ogre nearby. The doors will lead you to the Shattered Sanctum.
When inside, head straight to the throne room where Priestess Gut awaits. Go to the right and cross the wooden bridge. Once around the bridge, you’ll notice three goblins by a door. Through the door is the Worg Pens, and now you can find Halsin’s location in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Down the stairs to the right are goblins hanging around a cell with a bear inside. If you have the spell to speak with animals, use it to hear the bear plead with you to free him.
Otherwise, you can head down there and speak with the goblins. Here, you are given a few options:
- Encourage them to continue torturing the bear
- Force them to free the bear by passing an Intimidation check
- Trick them into letting the bear out with Wisdom or Illithid
To rescue the druid Halsin, you must defeat the goblins alongside the bear. Once they’re defeated, the bear will transform back into Halsin. If you want less of a battle, kill all witnesses, as they can run off for more help.
From here, you can chat with Halsin about your next steps. For those more eager to side with the goblins to get Minthara as a companion instead, you should probably just attack the bear once he’s initially free from the cage.
