The wastelands of Appalachia are as diverse as they are deadlyĀ outside the VaultsĀ inĀ Fallout 76.Ā They demand caution but reward your curiosity, especially if you embrace the challenges of going from prey to predator. Here is how and where you can find insect locations inĀ Fallout 76!

[Updated on April 19 – Added additional details about bug events.]

Best Insect Locations in Fallout 76

The best location for insect hunting of any variety is typically Aaronholt Homestead in Fallout 76. This location is on the northwest corner of the map and is a few minutes walk from Vault 76, where you start the game.

Aaronholt Homestead hosts Bloatflies and Bloodbugs, two nuisances commonly found near the fast-travel point. These make easy prey for Big GameĀ HunterĀ daily quests, which is aĀ greatĀ boost,Ā especially for anyĀ Fallout 76Ā beginners. However, we also have a helpful map & chart of additional locations across Appalachia for your consideration:

Insects often appear in other regions from above, and the overall variety has grown over time. If you don’t encounter a mob of insects in one location, travel to any of the above spots or consider events for more bug-hunting!

Where Are Bug Events in Fallout 76?

Events are a good source if you’re looking for additional quests and more variety in your bug-hunting. There are approximately four ideal events to fight insects inĀ Fallout 76, and their locations are marked across the map. These events include:

What Insects Are in Fallout 76?

Enemies categorized as insects in Fallout 76 include common enemies for those returning after playing Fallout 3 and 4. To the relief of those traumatized by Fallout: New Vegas, Cazadores don’t appear. Featured insects include:

  • Ants
  • Bee Swarms
  • Bloatflies
  • Bloodbugs
  • Cave Crickets
  • Fireflies
  • Fog Crawlers
  • Honeybeasts
  • Mothman
  • Radroaches
  • Radscorpions
  • Stingwings
  • Ticks

Fallout 76Ā has a stunning variety of bugs, from the humble classic Radroach to the terrifyingĀ bee-hemothsĀ that are Honeybeasts. The game also picks the right time for their names to rhyme and affection for alliteration so everything rolls off the tongue. After consideringĀ this appealing sales pitch for the Appalachia wasteland, bring aĀ stimpackĀ and some disease cures because these bugs canĀ sting.
