Risking your soul to catch a fish? In Deepwoken you might just have to. Deepwoken has more in common with Dark Souls than it does most Roblox games, so the inclusion of fishing is a bit surprising. Nonetheless, fishing is a viable option if you want to catch some free food, make a little money, or even luck into a rare treasure chest. Fortunately, you don’t have to risk permadeath in the Voidsea to catch a tuna or two. All you’ll need is a Fishing Rod, a bit of knowledge, and a finger ready to spam left-click. Here’s everything you need to know about how to fish in Deepwoken.
Deepwoken Fishing Guide
Fishing is harder in Deepwoken than in Pet Simulator 99 and other Roblox games, but your patience will pay off. To get started you’ll need a Fishing Rod. You can craft one using Sticks x2 and Fiber x1 at a Crafting Station or purchase one for 30 Notes at the Etris Docks. If your Guild Base has a Fishing Pond, you can also purchase one there, although it will cost 35 Notes instead. Once you have a Fishing Rod, you can fish at lakes, rivers, the sea, or a Guild Base Fishing Pond. Here’s what you need to do:
- Equip your Fishing Rod and cast it into the water
- Hold A if your character is leaning left, D if leaning right, or S if leaning backward
- While holding A/D/S as described above, spam left-click as fast as possible
- Your character’s body will lean in different directions as you fish, and you’ll need to change which key you’re holding (A/D/S) accordingly.
If you take too long to reel the fish in or if you hold the wrong key, the fish can escape. Deepwoken‘s fishing mechanics are more intense than those in many similar games, so don’t be discouraged if you struggle to nail them at first.
Additional Tips and Fish List
By fishing you’ll earn Talents that will make catching fish easier. The three Fishing Talents in Deepwoken are Fisher’s Lure, Hook, Line, and Sinker, and Proficient Baiting. Having these Talents grants you +8 Ether and +4 Carry Load, so they’re worth it. You can also use many raw foods as bait, and it’s recommended that you do so as much as possible. Using bait can not only increase your catch rate but also allow you to catch rarer fish. Here are the fish and other items you can catch in Deepwoken:
- Chests
- Lionfish
- Mudskipper
- Old Boots
- Pufferfish
- Red Snapper
- Sea Bass
- Seaweed
- Squid
- Swordfish
- Tuna
- Urchin
Sometimes knowing how to fish in Deepwoken is about knowing when not to fish. If you’re not catching much or you’re catching low-quality fish even while using bait, try another fishing spot. Get lucky and you might snag a chest with some high-tier loot, so don’t give up.
